Graffiti Cross

Typical of the shape of cross often carved into the stonework of old buildings is a forked cross, known by its heraldic name as a ‘cross fourchee’. This example, however, boasts the interesting variation of its lower arm being terminated by a ‘cleche’, or flared point. Crosses have been used as powerful protection charms since the very beginning of Christianity. This version has been interpreted from a carved wall graffiti, almost as if a casting has been taken from the stone incision, and made into a crude, simple pewter pendant in traditional style.

This may easily be polished to a brilliant, high luster, 'antiqued' patina finish with 'Silvo' polishing wad, (in an emergency, tooth powder or similar can be used). Please do not put pewter in a hot, salty dishwasher, which might seriously corrode the surface.

All of Alchemy England 'English Pewter' jewelry and accessories are hand made in England to an unrivaled quality by Alchemy's own craftsmen. The metal we use is classed as "Fine English Pewter". This means that the jewelry/giftware you buy from us does not contain Lead or Cadmium and is made from one of the highest grades of pewter you can get. Unlike some pewter used to manufacture jewelry from other countries, our pewter suppliers closely monitor the content and give us "Batch Essay" breakdowns of the exact metal content with each batch of metal we buy.

All Alchemy England earrings that have a component that goes through your ear lobe, are made from a metal that is safe for you to use. These parts are made from either Surgical Steel for earrings with posts or Silver Plated for earrings with french hooks.

We guarantee any authentic Alchemy item against defects or faulty workmanship and materials! Please note that this does not include general wear and tear or damage caused by the user/owner. This would include such things as surface darkening, (or patination), which is a natural effect, or forced and over-bending of bangles and ear-wraps, etc, which must be done gently to avoid fracture.

In case of any such defects, please return the offending item to us and follow the Returns instructions. We will send it to the UK headquarters to make the appropriate repairs or else replace the item like for like whenever possible. If the item is no longer available, we will offer a credit voucher to an amount equivalent to its original cost.
